Lancope survey: Security awareness trending up

You may be familiar with those “The More You Know” public service announcements that used to run on NBC. The premise is a good one–that knowledge is key, and the more you know, the more you’re able to make intelligent, informed decisions.

Nowhere is that more true than security awareness for computer and information security. It simply doesn’t work to be oblivious of potential threats, or in denial about the state of your organization’s network defenses. The good news is that a new report from Lancope illustrates a dramatic trend in the right direction, with more IT professionals acknowledging weaknesses and vulnerabilities, and admitting that there are issues and concerns that need to be addressed.

I wrote about the results of a survey Lancope conducted at Infosecurity Europe on my Minimal Risk blog at CSOOnline.com. Take a look at that article, and the linked survey results, and let me know what you think. How would you answer those survey questions for yourself and your network?
