Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer fuels excitement

Less than two months to the official premier of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the clock is ticking. Disney unveiled the official trailer Monday night during halftime of the Monday Night Football game–and it’s pretty epic.

Of course, with the majestic Star Wars theme music blaring over it even an episode of South Park would seem pretty epic. There is something about that music that just gets the adrenaline pumping.

As we anxiously await the seventh installment in the Star Wars saga let’s take a quick look at how the first six installments performed at the box office. This graphic is compiled from data curated by PrettyFamous.com and sourced from Gracenote.

The unfortunate inclusion of Jar Jar Binks notwithstanding, it seems that Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace is the one to beat. Judging by the hype and excitement for The Force Awakens I will be surprised if it doesn’t surpass them all.
