TechSpective Podcast Episode 080
Encryption is a key element of effective security–but it can also be complex and cumbersome. It is typically fairly binary–you either don’t have the decryption key and can’t access the data, or you do have the decryption key and you can access all of the data.
There is a better approach, though. Kei Karasawa, VP of Strategy for NTT Research, joins this episode of the TechSpective Podcast to talk about attribute-based encryption (ABE) and how it raises the bar for cybersecurity. In effect, it allows encryption to be applied on a more granular basis with a model that is similar to zero trust.
ABE enables you to protect data with encryption, and provide access to systems, users, and applications on an on-demand basis, with access allowed or rejected based on various attributes.
Check out the full episode for valuable insights from Kei on attribute-based encryption. We also talk some about the recent NTT Research event, Upgrade 2021.
