It’s been a while since I have done a 30 Days series, but I am getting to ready to launch two of them simultaneously. I will be conducting an extensive, real-world review of the Surface Pro 3, and a Nokia Lumia smartphone running Windows Phone 8.1 for the next couple months. I decided to do the two simultaneously because as a part of reviewing each one I also want to explore how they integrate and interact with one another.
I am going to start with a different set of ground rules for these 30 Days series, though. Rather than trying to push through for 30 straight calendar days, I am setting the expectation up front that each series will be based on 30 straight business days–not calendar days. That means you should not expect posts from me on weekends or holidays.
I will alternate posts between the two. In other words, there will be 30 Days with Surface Pro 3: Day 1, followed by 30 Days with Windows Phone 8.1: Day 1, followed by 30 Days with Surface Pro 3: Day 2, etc.. That also means that it will actually take 60 days to complete the two series.
Tune in and follow along to learn everything you want or need to know about using a Surface Pro 3 or Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone. Check back each business day for new posts, and please feel free to comment here or on the individual posts if you have specific questions about either device, or thoughts you’d like to share.

Whatever your experience with these two now, it will likely be greatly enhanced when Windows 10 is fully implemented on both platforms. I’m running Windows 8.1 on my phone and 7 on my laptop, and I already envy the people testing 10.
