Due to some of Shopify’s recent updates, many eCommerce stores are making the migration from Magento to Shopify. One of those recent updates from Shopify is the recently announced new analytics tool for merchants. This tool allows Shopify merchants to understand the flow of their businesses and better understand their buyers’ behaviors.
This means that merchants have access to their new online store analytics. These analytics include conversions, items added to the cart, data on sessions, and much more. With this report, merchants can receive a better understanding of how their customers engage with their store and make more effective business plans.
As a partner who can help merchants run stores, this analytical report can create a better understanding of your visitor’s behavior and your client’s online behavior. This makes it easier for you to determine what works and what doesn’t work for your business.
And we’ll be showing you why people migrate from Magento to Shopify. Not only does Shopify has a Shopify Plus addition which has further features, but it’s a popular choice for most eCommerce merchants.
So, let’s begin!
Selecting an eCommerce Platform
Selling online can get competitive. Your platform has to give you the ability to give a good customer experience that the buyers demand. It has to fit seamlessly and fit in the rest of your business.
It should not take your business hours to process orders. Product information shouldn’t need to take weeks to update or import.
Daily time spent operating and maintaining the platform is taken away from your customers and product development. Your customer needs to be the main focus.
Comparing Shopify with Magento
One reason the migration from Magento to Shopify process has occurred is due to the additional features that Shopify has. Here are some things that you should look into when deciding which platform is good for you online store.
Extensions
Both Shopify and Magento understand that eCommerce sellers want to sell their products. Like Magento, Shopify a reliable community that develops extensions or apps that give you additional functionality such as combating cart abandonment.
APIs
APIs are designed to help your webstore exchange data, such as orders, items, customers, inventory with other systems, and shipping/tracking. Your API affects how much and how fast the data can be synced.
Shopify has an API system that can be easily integrated into other platforms. Because of this, makes it easier for Magento users to switch to Shopify.
Maintenance
Magento users are in charge of their own store maintenance. Since you’re hosting the software on your own, any problems that arise are your responsibility. For some people, this might be a positive. You’ll have full ownership of the decision making of your platform.
But some eCommerce stores might not want this responsibility. Unlike Magento, Shopify is a hosted solution. This means that they are constantly monitoring their site for potential performance issues. If any problems occur, it’s their job to fix it.
For retailers, this is a large problem that you don’t have to worry about. And this is one of the reasons why shoppers are moving towards Shopify.
Conclusion
We believe that the migration from Magento to Shopify is starting to become more prevalent. While some users will use Magento, some find Shopify just as effective. When making the change, make sure that you have all of your data transferred so that you can sell your products on Shopify’s platform!
