Google has gone through some pretty major transformations lately–splitting the company into Alphabet and Google. Part of that transformation now includes a redesigned Google logo. It’s not Earth-shattering. The logo still looks essentially like it has forever–and yet it’s different.
Along with the new logo Google also produced a video that strolls through the evolution of Google. Whether you’re a fan of the company or not it has managed to accomplish a staggering amount in the relatively short time it’s been around and in some ways it seems like Google is just getting started.
Watch the video:
A blog post about the new logo explains, “This isn’t the first time we’ve changed our look and it probably won’t be the last, but we think today’s update is a great reflection of all the ways Google works for you across Search, Maps, Gmail, Chrome and many others. We think we’ve taken the best of Google (simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly), and recast it not just for the Google of today, but for the Google of the future.”
